13 May 2011 We have received several messages, from directors, schools and workshops, who asked us to accept their films even though they arrive with a few days (or even a few weeks) after the deadline. Probably, those who have emailed us are not the only ones who are in difficulties, so we have decided to extend the deadline for the Awards: not May 15th anymore, but May 26th. 27 January 2011 For many survivors to the Shoah, it is impossibile to tell about that horrible event. It is even more impossibile to tell about it through comics... «This theme is too serious, a comic-book cannot tell about it», tells Ezra Cohn, 64 years old, from the Jewish community in Dusseldorf. But, since we must not forget and must not repeat old mistakes, we are obliged to explain what happened with all the media we can count on. Comics included. For this reason, even this year Cartoon Club has prepared the exhibition Tears, wolves and tragical mice. How comic-books have told about the Shoah, edited by the comics experts Davide Barzi and Paolo Guiducci: it is an accurate overview on the comic books that, all over the world, have told about Auschwitz. The exhibition can be visited up to 1 February, at the Social Theatre in Novafeltria. |
