The VI Cosplay Convention
The most beautiful costumes inspired by comics and cartoons
Saturday 24th – Sunday 25th July
15.00 / 24.00 – Giant Screen Stage, Fellini Square(free entry)
Returning to Cartoon Club is the Cosplay Convention, organized by Egisto Quinti Seriacopi together with Ramona Lambusta and Marco Veronese, both highly experienced cosplayers. The word “Cosplay” is a merging of the English words “costume” and “play”, and it describes a hobby, born in Japan and then spreading out to the rest of the world, which consists in dressing up as characters from manga, anime, videogames, TV serials, movies, or even musical bands. All the costumes are hand-made by the people who wear them, because you cannot find this kind of costumes in shops. Cosplay meetings currently are a “must” at the most important conventions about comics and animated cartoons. The fans wear their costumes, participate to contests, exchange opinions and advices and, most of all, have fun together.
THE ORGANIZERS
Ramona Lambusta – Lady Seth Ramons
Ramona is one of the most original and appreciated cosplayers at Italian conventions, and a veteran of the cosplay world for more than fifteen years. She is a dressmaker, make-up artist and inspiring Muse of many crazy events in Italy. She is often a member of the jury in important contests at comics conventions, such as ExpoCartoon (Rome), Fumettopoli (Milan), Lucca Cosplay (Lucca), and is the organizer of the cosplay contest of Bologna Comics.
Marco Veronese - Stab
Marco is a cosplayer, born in the same year when RAI channel began to air shows in colour. His main “food” is Japanese animated series. Founder of the group I Balordi (“the Foolish Ones”), a legend in cosplay communities for a few years, he loves not only to be a cosplayer, but also to host the contests together with his friend and colleague Elena Guasco (also known as Emeraldas, one of the most active cosplayers in Italy). A real stage-animal, he makes both cosplayers and audience have great fun.
